Notifications of the following road closures under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - section 14(1) have been received:

Temporary Traffic Regulation Order of Riffhams Lane, Danbury

Please click on the following link https://one.network/?tm=117569033 to find details of the intended closure of Riffhams Lane, due to commence on 29th June 2020 for 20 days. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Essex County Council undertakes VRS replacement (19:00-05:00).

Essex Fraud Alert - Coronavirus phishing scams

An update from Essex Fraud Alert:

OFFICAL UPDATE RE. GOV.UK TEXT MESSAGES

Following the alert sent out this morning, please see the official government response to messages such as the one shown below:

“The Government has only sent one text message to the public regarding new rules about staying at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Any others claiming to be from UK Government are false.

Criminals are able to use spoofing technology to send texts and emails impersonating organisations that you know and trust. We would remind anyone who receives an unexpected text or email asking for personal or financial details not click on the links or attachments, and don’t respond to any messages that ask for your personal or financial details.”

If you receive any such messages, report them to Action Fraud - www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-phishing

If you or someone you know is vulnerable has been a victim of fraud, please call Essex Police on 101.

Bradwell B Nuclear Power Station consultation

Public Consultation: New nuclear power station at Bradwell.

A public consultation is underway until 1st July into proposals for a new nuclear power station at Bradwell.  Part of the transport proposals being considered include the A414 through Danbury in the early stages of construction and so the website is worth a look.  Public exhibitions have had to be cancelled due the coronavirus, however there is a virtual exhibition and interactive contact on their website:
