Danbury Country Park

Within
Danbury Country Park are three Lakes formed
when the park was created in the 13th Century as part of a private estate. Later
the lakes formed part of the ornamental gardens of Danbury Palace. Now managed by Essex County Council, the Park includes lakes, woodland and ornamental gardens. Don't miss the Rhododendrons!

Parish Church of St John Baptist
Church Green, Main Road, Danbury
St John's is a Grade 1 Listed Building with much of interest for the visitor. The oldest part, the north aisle, dates from around 1290, but there was probably a church on the site much earlier. The present building was renovated in 1866 by the architect Gilbert Scott.

Blakes Wood
off Riffhams Chase, Little Baddow
Owned by the National Trust, Blakes Wood consists of nearly 100 acres of managed, ancient woodland. Renowned for its carpet of bluebells in spring, the woods are a lovely place for peaceful walking at any time of year.

RHS Garden Hyde Hall
Hyde Hall, Rettenden
The garden is open all year enabling visitors to enjoy the changing seasons. There is a restaurant, plant centre, and shop selling RHS gifts and books.
