Maria DyerNOVEMBER 2009: WELCOME TO MARIA!
On 1st November Maria Dyer joined the Parish Council as Assistant Clerk. Maria will have particular responsibility for the land and properties owned by the Parish Council which are the remit of the Council's Facilities Committee.
We welcome Maria to the Parish staff team and look forward to working with her.

SEPTEMBER 2009: VILLAGE WEBSITE ACHIEVEMENT
Screen shot of website home pageThis year for the first time this website won an award in the EALC Website Competition 2009. It was awarded third place in the competition, which is sponsored by Essex County Council.

Stuart Berlyn, Chairman of the Parish Council, announced the award at the meeting of the Parish Council in September 2009, and congratulations were expressed to Assistant Clerk Elisabeth Blyth who is responsible for the site.

VILLAGE OF THE YEAR COMPETITION 2009

Congratulations to Danbury on receiving a Merit Award in the Calor Village of the Year Competition for 2009. The award is a tribute to all those who help to care for our village and keep it looking clean and inviting.

The Annual Parish Meeting was held on 22 April in the main hall in the Sports & Social Centre and attended by Parish Council members and staff and around 75 members of the public, many representing voluntary organisations active in the village.

Arthur Pemberton
MARCH 2009: A NEW COUNCILLOR for DANBURY PARISH COUNCIL

At its meeting in March 2009 the Parish Council voted to co-opted Mr Arthur Pemberton as a member of the Council to fill a vacancy. The Council now has its full complement of 15 members. We welcome Cllr Pemberton to his new role in the life of the village!
