The Parish Councillors have been attending the appeal proceedings at Chelmsford City Council for 16/01810/OUT which refers to the following planning application by Gladman Developments Ltd at Runsell Green.

Outline planning application for up to 140 residential dwellings (including up to 35% affordable housing), introduction of structural planting & landscaping, informal public open space & children's play area, surface water flood mitigation & attenuation, 2 no. vehicular access points: 1 no. from Maldon Road & 1 no. from Runsell Lane and associated ancillary works. All matters to be reserved with the exception of main site access.

The Vice- Chairman of the Planning Committee read out a statement of objection from the Parish Council as part of the appeal and the full text of this document can be found on the attached pdf.

The Parish Council would like to thank all the residents who have supported the Parish Council and taken the time to attend the appeal and/or sent in their comments on this and other applications that have been submitted in the last two years.

Once the outcome of the appeal is available further updates will be posted.

Further to some information circulated in the village, please note the following for clarification.  Any developments that are currently underway or approved will not be counted towards the 100 houses identified in Chelmsford City Council's New Local Plan as it has not yet been adopted.  The Danbury Neighbourhood Plan is still progressing well and working towards identifying suitable sites for the location of these 100 houses over the lifetime of the new Local Plan (until 2036).    The Neighbourhood Plan Group will be holding public exhibitions in March which will be publicised around the village shortly.
